SPORTS

We Finns are nuts about sports, so also in our school we have special sports events almost every month through the whole school year. Primary schools have tournaments in football, rink bandy, floor ball and Finnish baseball. We also have competitions in track and field, skiing and cross country running.

DRAMA

At least once or twice a year we go to the theatre. In February 2005 we went to see Snow White. It was the production of the local drama club. It was especially nice because four of our students played the roles of dwarfs, in particular those of Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful and Grumpy.

SPECIAL HAPPENINGS

Sometimes we have special happenings like school fetés or bazaars or school masquerades. But not every year.

In the spring we often organize a UNICEF walk to raise money for poor children in developing countries.

WORKSHOPS

Once or twice a year we have two weeks of "workshops". It means that we spend afternoons working in different kinds of workshops doing pottery or making videofilms or drama or playing chess etc. The themes and subjects vary yearly. In the late spring they are often sports workshops. Then you can try and learn a new sports for example riding, archery, skateboarding or rollerblading.
