Orivesi

Orivesi is located in the province of Western Finland, about 40 km and 30 minutes bus, train and car ride away from Tampere. There are about 8900 inhabitants. 70 % of the population live in the densely build-up town area. Furthermore, during the summer months the population increases substantially due to the amount of holiday residences around Orivesi and lake Längelmävesi.

Orivesi has a wide range of education facilities, starting from several primary schools, a secondary school, an upper secondary school, a vocational school up to Oriveden Opisto – a college of arts. Orivesi also has a well functioning health centre, quality day care services and a wide net of services for the elderly. Culture or sport activities aren’t neglected either, since there is an ice hockey hall as well as a recently renovated swimming hall.

In areas of business and construction, new investments both in private and public sectors are booming. In conclusion, a strong emphasis is laid on the housing and living conditions. New land and building sites are constantly advertised and they are easily available. There’s also a good availability of terrace houses and blocks of flats.

All in all, Orivesi is a town close to nature, a safe and an active place to live with versatile services.
